The Cat Returns | ★★★
The Cat Returns certainly isn’t a favourite of mine where it comes to the Ghibli collection but as always, it fills you with magic.
I sat and watched this recently with my two year old daughter, who didn’t move for the whole film, even though it was in Japanese and she didn’t understand a thing. I think that speaks in volumes.
The story, as always is completely absurd and fantastical. The character development is the perfect balance for your older and younger audience. I adore how, unlike Disney, a Ghibli film doesn’t need a sing-song to hold the attention of their audience.

If you’re looking for a world full of escapism and to be in touch with your inner child, or cat, as it were, this is for you.
For fans of : Ponyo, Spirited Away, The Princess and the Frog
